Tropical Green Smoothies
Smoothies are easy to make and full of nourishing ingredients. The key to creating a delicious and nutritious green smoothie is to balance the flavors of the leafy greens with fruits or sweet vegetables. To make the smoothie more of a meal, add some type of healthy fat or protein such as flax, hemp or chia seeds.
TROPICAL GREEN DELIGHT
1 cup frozen mango or pineapple cubes
2 cups spinach and/or Swiss chard
1 banana sliced and frozen
1 cup coconut water (more or less depending on desired thickness)
1 teaspoon flax oil
* Use ½ avocado in place of banana for a lower sugar option
Place all ingredients in a high-speed blender and enjoy!
3-4 kale leaves and stalks
1 bunch cilantro
½ cup coconut water or fresh fruit juice such as pineapple, green apple, or pear
raw honey or stivia to taste
1 teaspoon vanilla
Freeze the pineapple ahead of time for a thicker consistency and frothy texture.
Place all ingredients in a blender and enjoy.
